Grey is cloth as it comes off the loom — woven, measured and graded, but not yet dyed or finished. We hold and trade grey on our own account, and we weave it to order across our loom network.
Every piece is booked against the beam it was woven from, and that beam against its yarn lot. If a fault surfaces three steps later, the record still points back to the sizer and the yarn.
